"Another World" is the ninth single by Japanese musical artist Gackt. It was released on September 5, 2001 and peaked at second place on the Oricon weekly chart and charted for seventeen weeks.[1] Gackt used both songs as the introduction and opening to the "Moon Project, while the "Another World" promotional video was used as a preview for his co-written and co-starred 2003 film Moon Child. The promotional video was filmed in Hong Kong.

The success and popularity of "Another World" surpassed even that of "Vanilla" in 1999. The single peaked at the number 2 position on Japanese Oricon rankings, and stayed on the charts more than 17 weeks, of that 8 weeks in the Top20. The single sold over 284,550 copies, making it Gackt's most successful single overall.

Music video

The main character is played by Gackt and appears to be a version of Sho from his film Moon Child. Scenes of happy times with his three companions (most likely parallels to Kei, Son and Yi-Che) are intercut with scenes of violence. At the end of the video, Gackt's character exacts revenge on the mafia boss who has terrorized his and his friends' lives. The closing scene shows Gackt's character injured and driving away alone.
